What kind of X

For asking what kind of X one is,

どんな(donna) + noun

is typycally used.

For example,

A:

田中さんはどんな人ですか。

Tanaka-san wa donna hito desu ka.

What kind of person is Tanaka-san?

B:

親切な人です。

shinsetsu na hito desu.

He/She is a kind person.
